As the economy begins to show the first green shoots of recovery, Lee Peck Media has won its first client since lockdown began.
King Property Developments has appointed the agency to deliver media relations as its looks to embark on a programme of preserving the city’s historic buildings for future generations.
The company is converting old commercial buildings into apartments predominantly for first time buyers and young families.
And it has just launched a one-bedroom show apartment at 80 Shirley Road which is on the market for £145,000. Southern House, with its impressive double frontage, was built in 1875 and for many years was the headquarters for a well-respected finance company.
Today, it will house 10 one and two-bedroom apartments. Two out of the four available homes have already been reserved with the remainder due for completion by the Autumn.
Other projects underway are the conversion of Kings House, also Shirley Road, which was built in 1893 and, with its vaulted ceilings, was formerly local council headquarters. The company is also refurbishing The Polygon, a Grade II listed building in the district of Southampton which bears the same name and dates back to 1840.
Rob King, director of King Property, said: “My passion is transforming historic buildings, often old offices which are no longer fit for purpose, and giving them a new lease of life by creating homes for people. To get our message over to our various stakeholders we wanted an agency which understands the property world and is influential in the central south of England. Lee Peck Media has impeccable credentials in then property world, unrivalled contacts and bags of enthusiasm so we’re delighted they’re on board.”
Rob’s other passion is offering mentoring to people wanting to build a property portfolio. “I’ve been in the business for more than 20 years so passing on what I’ve learned is hugely satisfying.”
Lee Peck said: “This is an important win for us, coming as it does as lockdown is easing. King Property is an ambitious company and looking to make a real difference. They’re a perfect fit.”
