Following a competitive pitch, Lee Peck Media has been appointed to deliver the 2019 annual conference for the Solent Local Enterprise Partnership.
‘Countdown to Brexit’ will take place at the Hilton Ageas in Hedge End on Tuesday March 12 and will see around 250 business and public sector leaders come together to look at the future of the region.
The conference will be held against a backdrop of the national debates taking place over coming weeks, and the potential changes that might impact businesses and individuals in the UK. Speakers will consider the technical and other business-based advancements happening across the Solent region, and how corporate resilience will be key in the future.
Lee Peck Media’s role includes theming the event; sourcing and briefing the speakers; securing sponsorship; running the conference on the day and delivering the PR.
The day will be hosted by highly-respected BBC business editor Simon Jack. He will give his unique insight into reporting on Brexit and chair a question time style panel where delegates can pose their questions to the day’s speakers.
Among those set to talk at the event alongside Simon Jack are:
- Aart Hille Ris Lambers, UK Commercial Director at DP World Southampton, the UK’s most productive container terminal
- Neil Garwood, Managing Director at Southampton Airport
- Hannah Clipston, Partner at law firm Irwin Mitchell
- Leigh Atkinson, Local Director at Metro Bank
There will also be an update from Solent LEP’s chairman Gary Jeffries on the organisation’s important work to develop the region’s economic landscape and its vision for 2050.
Gary said: “Businesses are key drivers of the economy here in the Solent and Brexit is undoubtedly the biggest topic on their lips at the moment. We’re looking forward to discussing the opportunities and challenges our changing relationship with the EU may present for the Solent in particular, at what’s set to be our most action-packed annual conference to date.”
Solent LEP is encouraging local businesses to attend the event and be a part of the lively discussions. Entry is free but delegates must register to attend soon as spaces are limited.
Lee Peck said: “The LEP conference is always a landmark event in the region and we were delighted to have been selected. The deliverables cover a wide range of our services which make it a particularly satisfying contract to win.”
