As the climate emergency begins to bite, acting in a sustainable way is one of the core values of today’s society.
Sustainability is often broken into three core concepts: economic, environmental, and social and many businesses, organisations and governments have committed to sustainable goals, such as reducing their environmental footprints and conserving resources.
Some investors are actively embracing sustainability investments, known as “green investments” and consumers in B2B and B2C channels are turning away from companies which don’t actively adopt sustainable processes.
Indeed, sceptics have accused some companies of “greenwashing,” the practice of misleading the public to make a business seem more environmentally friendly than it.
For more than 20 years, Lee Peck Media has been working with clients in the public and private sector at the forefront of driving sustainability as one of the core values of society. Our insight and experience enables us to advise clients on how to best engage with their stakeholders and target audiences to ensure their sustainability credentials are appropriately and accurately portrayed in the mainstream media and social channels.
Services include media relations, managing a client’s social media output, media training, reputation and crisis management, event management, corporate affairs, design and branding, video production and web build as well as managing submissions for prestigious industry awards.
University scientist plays key role in turning CO2 into rock
A scientist from the University’s School of Ocean and Earth Science has played a key role in helping a UK-Omani company, which eliminates CO2 by turning it into rock, being named as the winner of the prestigious 2022 #earthshotprize in the ‘Fix our Climate’ category.
Juerg Matter is a professor of Geoengineering and Carbon Management and sits on the scientific committee of winning company 44.01, which gets its name from the molecular mass of CO2.
Prince William, who founded the #earthshotprize in 2020, announced this year’s winners at a ceremony in Boston in the US, each of the winners receiving £1m.
For Lee Peck Media, our task was to maximise coverage for the University as the story played out across the world’s media and enhance its reputation as a global leader in research and knowledge exchange. Monitoring events in the States, we had to get reaction from Juerg in Oman, where he was working, while securing interest from the regional media here in the #CentralSouth. Coping with different time zones and intermittent signals were all part of the challenge.

Building Europe’s first large scale carbon neutral development
As the UK’s largest developer of new homes, Barratt Developments plc – and its two main brands Barratt and David Wilson Homes – guards its reputation fiercely. None more so than when it built Europe’s first large scale carbon neutral development at Hanham Hall in Bristol.
As a Barratt retained PR agency for more than 20 years, Lee Peck Media managed the branding and corporate communications for this ground breaking scheme and as well as B2B and B2C media relations and event management. Hanham Hall became a bench mark for sustainable developments worldwide and became the jewel in Barratt’s crown.
