Lee Peck Media is part of the University of Southampton’s submission which has been announced as a finalist in the Best Community/Business Engagement Campaign or Initiative in the prestigious 2023 Heist Awards.
The Heist Awards, which will be held at a ceremony on Thursday July 13 in Manchester, are the premium awards for the education marketing sector and celebrate student recruitment, engagement, marketing and communications for universities and colleges around the world.
A founding member of the Russell Group and recognised as a top 100 global university, the University of Southampton’s submission reads: “In the post-covid landscape we identified the need to raise awareness of the financial contribution of our University to the local, regional and national economy. Using an independent report which powerfully measured our economic impact, we targeted the regional business community and wider publics with an integrated advocacy and PR campaign. In October 2022 we partnered with Southampton PR agency, Lee Peck Media, to both enhance our local contacts and influence, and maximise media coverage. It was crucial to us that we used this initiative as a vehicle for community engagement rather than simply exposure in the media.”
Allison Stratford, Associate Director Corporate Communications at the University of Southampton, said: “ We are absolutely thrilled to benamed as finalists. Collaborating with Lee Peck Media meant we were able to create an impactful communications strategy, adding an extra dimension to our submission. So it’s brilliant we’re in with a chance of winning.”
Lee Peck, founder and director of Lee Peck Media, said: “Working so closely with Allison and her team, and being part of such a compelling submission from a world class university, was without doubt a career highlight. Fingers crossed!”
